BDIYCF Community Fund (BDIYCF)

The BDIYCF provides financial support to Iyengar yoga teacher members to reach individuals who would be unable to afford or attend yoga classes.  The fund is available to all members who have a yoga project that would contribute to the growth and well-being of our Iyengar yoga community.

The objective of the BDIYCF is to bolster grassroots Iyengar Yoga initiatives throughout the district by offering funding to allow those who would benefit from the positive outcomes of regular yoga practice.

The fund strives to assist teachers in working with diverse groups of students who lack access to yoga classes. Which for example may include:

  • prisoners
  • ethnic minorities
  • children
  • special needs students
  • vulnerable women in refuges

Furthermore, it supports member yoga endeavours that hold value for our community. This may involve seed funding for practice sessions, piloting new classes in areas where costs are prohibitive, or organising sessions outside of regular BDIY workshops that focus on specific themes like anatomy or philosophy.

Our Aims

About the fund: BDIY members can seek funding to support classes or yoga projects that are free or low cost for students, following national guidance it is recommended to partner with organisations that serve marginalised, excluded, or deprived individuals who would otherwise be unable to access yoga. The BDIY committee oversees the management of the fund and has the capacity to offer up to £100 funding to support grassroots projects when alternative funding sources are not available. The purpose of the fund does not extend to supporting pre-existing profit-making yoga projects or initiatives. Instead, its focus lies in aiding the realisation of new yoga projects and fostering their sustainability where applicable.
